Selectboard members questioned responses to an RFP that brought bids from construction companies rather than an independent owner’s project manager. Gordon Bristol, who previously served as "clerk of the works" on a school project, told the board he could act as the town’s owner’s project manager and quoted an hourly fee of $60 per hour. Bristol estimated his work to get the town to a bond vote and the selection of a construction manager would amount to under $15,000, and he agreed to provide a firm price and a list of deliverables for the board to consider.
The board asked for a written contract and deliverables so the town can present a clear scope at a future bond vote; after the bond vote, construction will go out to bid. No formal appointment of an OPM or contract award was made at the April 15 meeting.
