Brooks County approves MOUs with Brooks County ISD and Premont Police Department

The court unanimously approved two memoranda of understanding involving local law enforcement at the Aug. 29 meeting. Commander Jorge Esparza briefed commissioners on an MOU with the Brooks County Independent School District and noted the county pays for two officers assigned to the district; the court approved the agreement.
Separately, the court approved an MOU between the Brooks County Sheriff's Office and the Premont Police Department. Commander Esparza provided a brief explanation of the Premont MOU submitted by the sheriff’s office; both motions passed by unanimous roll call vote.
