Harvey County Extension reports 3,616 volunteer hours; Health Department urges residents to take community survey

Anne Pitts, lead agent for the Harvey County K‑State Research & Extension Office, presented an annual review to the commissioners on Feb. 17 and highlighted service metrics and programs.
Pitts said extension volunteers contributed about 3,616 total hours to programs during the reporting period and that the SHICK (insurance counseling) program helped 569 people achieve estimated total savings of $302,045. Health Department Director Lynnette Redington also encouraged participation in a county Community Health survey that is open to individuals 18 and older who live or work in Harvey County through the end of February: "The survey is open to individuals 18 and older who live or work in Harvey County," she said.
Commissioners acknowledged the volume of programming and said the information will be useful for ongoing outreach and grant opportunities.
