District losing some grants but wins SRO award; preschool remains fully grant-funded

Board business manager summarized several grant-related changes affecting next year's budget, saying the Stronger Connections grant that funded a range of programs is gone and will reduce available revenue. At the same time, staff confirmed they had received notice of an SRO grant that could provide about $75,000 initially and roughly $240,000 over three years to help cover part of an SRO salary.
Superintendent Scott Davis emphasized preschool programming is fully grant-funded and cannot draw on general fund dollars, noting "Preschool is 100% grant funded. We cannot use any general fund dollars for preschool at all." The presentation also covered Title I and Title II transfers: Title I is being fully expended next year with no carryover expected, and Title II funds will transfer into Title I as a routine accounting measure.
