Asotin council moves to pursue 2012 ambulance and payment plan for county brush truck

The Asotin City Council on Sept. 9 authorized the mayor to negotiate purchase of a 2012 ambulance listed by the Lewiston Fire Department and approved a payment agreement to acquire a county B53 brush truck. The ambulance listing has a $9,000 reserve on GovDeals, and the motions passed by 5-0 votes.
Mayor Dwayne Paris said the ambulance "would be to the City Fire Department. This would help with equipment and EMS care storage that they currently do not have." Council also authorized a payment plan for the county B53 truck, which "currently has county logos on it, but when paid off this would become another piece of equipment for the City Fire Department." The council approved the ambulance negotiation motion (mover: Steve Cowdrey; second: Craig Stein) and the B53 payment agreement (mover: Steve Cowdrey; second: Tim Ottmar), both recorded as passed 5-0.
