Public Works Director Curtis Mader told commissioners that a backup in Sewer District #15 — which serves 138 paying units east of El Dorado — revealed tree roots had infiltrated and blocked a pipe. Staff recommended a camera inspection to assess the condition of each line and determine whether to apply a liner, burst the line, or excavate and repair sections.
Commissioners approved Public Works’ request to solicit bids for the camera inspection on a 5-0 vote. Mader said the county is billed by the City of El Dorado for wastewater treatment and that the inspection will inform the most cost-effective remediation approach. No timeline or cost estimate for the inspection was specified at the meeting.
