City wins feasibility-study grant for water intake; SCC study timeline set

City Administrator Josette reported the city was successful in winning a feasibility-study grant through a sustainable infrastructure planning program to examine options for its water intake and to evaluate armor, intake-deepening or redundant intake alternatives. She said contracts are expected to be signed by February 2026, after which consultants will begin the feasibility analysis.
Separately, Josette outlined a planning consultant (SCC) study to review the comprehensive plan, parks master plan and transportation systems plan with a targeted posting of a draft on Dec. 15 and a final study completion target of April 15; she said the study will include updated SDC (system development charge) calculations so the city can budget for future capacity. "We were successful on our grant application for the feasibility study for the water intake," Josette said, and staff will bring study results forward for budgeting and project planning.
