Council approves city-hall closures on Dec. 26 and Jan. 2

City staff requested closing city hall on the Fridays that follow Christmas and New Year’s Day because those are traditionally low-traffic days; the council approved the request. City Administrator Josette explained staff would either take paid time or unpaid time and that the city had followed a similar practice in prior years when holiday schedules fell mid-week.

Councilor moved and a second was recorded; the chair called for the voice vote and the council approved the two closures. "I would like to make a motion to close city hall on Friday, December 26 and Friday, January 2," one councilor said; the motion carried by voice vote, and staff will post the closures and process any required paperwork.
