Staff summarized the June 18 bid opening for Lafayette Park Phase 2 improvements and reported four bids ranging widely. Because available funds did not support the full originally-bid scope, staff said they reduced the scope and asked the low bidder to revise its price. "We are asking City Council to award the contract to Sorensen Gross Company in the amount of $367,059," staff told council and said supporting documents and plan sheets were in the packet.
Council member Bogart moved to award the bid from the capital improvement fund (GL 101-751-978) pending city attorney contract review; the motion was seconded and carried by roll call vote. Council and staff discussed that the project was divided into phases (2A, 2B, 3) and that deferred scope would be addressed in future years once funding is available.
