Moorhead Bridge reopens; county previews more bridge work and road reclaiming

"It's nice to see it open," one supervisor said, and roads staff noted that piles for the piers have arrived and that coffer dam work will allow pier construction to proceed while weather remains mild. Staff also previewed another bridge replacement (identified as Z-15 / 362nd Avenue) expected to begin in March, and they described a process to set late start dates so projects open in summer and do not interfere with harvest traffic.
The board also discussed road reclaiming: staff are selecting roads for reclaiming, identifying fences in the right-of-way that may need letters or relocation, and coordinating crews across the county. Supervisors and staff discussed recent clearing activity, frost depths and how thaw timing affects scheduling. Staff said they will send notices to affected property owners where fence adjustments are necessary.
