Beaux Arts Village authorizes mayor to sign King County parks-levy agreement

The council adopted Resolution No. 343 authorizing Mayor Howes to execute the King County Parks Levy Agreement (2026–2031) so the town can receive its share of voter-approved funds; vote 5-0.
Clerk/Treasurer Sue Ann Spens told the council that King County voters extended the Parks Levy and that the town must sign an interlocal agreement to continue receiving its portion of levy proceeds. "Voters in King County voted to extend the Parks Levy and if the Town wishes to continue receiving its share of the funding, the mayor must execute this agreement," Spens said. Councilmember Paula Dix moved adoption of Resolution No. 343 authorizing the Mayor to execute the King County Parks Levy Agreement for 2026'2031; the motion passed 5-0.
The resolution accepts continuation of the county-level funding stream; the clerk will ensure the executed agreement is returned so the town remains eligible for levy distributions.
