The Beaux Arts Village Town Council on Dec. 9 passed Ordinance No. 486, adopting the town's 2026 budget, and approved Ordinance No. 485 to amend the 2025 budget for a late street-fund bill. Clerk/Treasurer Sue Ann Spens told the Council the amendment was needed because of "the late receipt of a bill for project work in 2024." The measures were approved by unanimous votes of 5-0.
Spens said the 2026 worksheets reflect revisions discussed in November and reminded the council that the town sets its budget at the fund level rather than by line item. "I did not receive any feedback requesting additional changes," she said, describing the packet the Council reviewed. Councilmember Tom Stowe moved to adopt Ordinance No. 486 and to set salary ranges for the clerk/treasurer and deputy clerk; the motion was seconded and carried 5-0. The amendment adopting Ordinance No. 485 for 2025 was also approved 5-0 after a public hearing with no commenters.
The council's action finalizes fund-level appropriations and establishes the salary ranges announced at the meeting. Spens will complete the formal paperwork required to implement the ordinances and incorporate any administrative updates to the town's financial records.
