OEM and 911 report winter-weather response and communications generator work with state

Corey Brandon, representing OEM, summarized winter-weather operations and said the dive team encountered algae buildup that was creating slush; prevention measures were put in place and the dive team thanked law enforcement, EMS, fire personnel and Hardees for logistical support. Brandon’s recap also noted the City of Philippi had reduced potable water supply during recent weather events.
Dylan Harper (911) provided an update on the communications tower generator and said staff is coordinating with the State to secure a replacement unit for the site. Commissioners received the updates and no formal action on these items was recorded in the minutes.
