Vice Chair Lehua Chang reported the launch of a seated hula class through the Kelea Foundation and described collaboration in Lahaina with the Comprehensive Health Center. Commissioner Linda Puppolo raised the need for health insurance enrollment assistance and cited high medication costs for residents.
County Executive Rowena Dagdag‑Andaya clarified eligibility for direct services: direct services are available to individuals age 60 and older with no income requirement; people under 60 may receive information, referral and options counseling but funding for direct services is not available to that population. The Commission suggested follow‑up on suggestions such as sensory‑friendly in‑home haircut services and potential EnhanceFitness site referrals.
