Court approves grant RFPs and multiple grant-related actions; EPA Community Changes bids tabled
Summary
Brooks County approved a Texans Feeding Texans grant resolution and authorized RFP/RFQ work for the Texas Community Development Grant Program, approved a TxDOT RAMP participation agreement, and opened single bids for the EPA Community Changes Program which the court tabled for review. Public hearings were held for the EPA program and the Hazard Mitigation Plan.
The commissioners approved several grant-related actions during their Aug. 8 session. Marcos Gonzalez of CACOST-Texans Feeding Texans presented program services and the court approved a resolution authorizing the County Grant Program Year 2025 Texans Feeding Texans; Judge Eric Ramos read the resolution in open court and the motion passed unanimously.
The court authorized issuance of an RFP for administrative services and an RFQ for engineering services for a Texas Department of Agriculture Community Development Grant Program application cycle (2025/2026 Community Development Fund). The court also approved a Texas Department of Transportation Airport Project Participation Agreement for the FY2025 RAMP grant.
For the EPA Community Changes Program, Francisco Briones reported the county received only one bid for management services (Resources Mobility Associates Inc.) and one bid for A/E services (Fulcrum). The court opened the bids and voted to table awarding and scoring the items pending further review. The court held public hearings on the EPA program and the county's Hazard Mitigation Plan; Francisco Briones explained that updating the Hazard Mitigation Plan is intended to help the county qualify for TDEM/FEMA grants.
