County staff reported that a prior Hendricks Workforce Housing LLC project (a fourplex) is complete and occupied. Lisa Graphenteen (Director of Housing and Economic Development) and Travis Olsen (Hendricks Community Hospital Association CEO) presented a new project for two patio homes with a $635,500 total budget; Hendricks Workforce Housing LLC will contribute $543,357 and the applicants are pursuing $75,000 in Tier II state funding. The Board approved $83,643 from Lincoln County Statewide Affordable Housing funds to support construction of the two patio homes.
Commissioners asked whether the patio homes would remain rental properties; Graphenteen said the intention is to rent them but there is no stipulation that would prevent sale in the future. The Board noted a desire to be fair to other cities and indicated other proposals would be considered if submitted.
