Lincoln County board reorganizes for 2026, adopts routine operating resolutions

The Lincoln County Board of Commissioners reorganized for 2026 during its Jan. 6 meeting in Ivanhoe, electing Commissioner Steve Hauswedell as Board Chair and Commissioner Corey Sik as Vice Board Chair after motions to cease nominations and cast unanimous ballots were approved (moved by Dean Nielsen and seconded by Corey Sik for chair; moved by Hauswedell and seconded by Nielsen for vice chair).
The board also adopted multiple operational resolutions including Resolution No. 01‑2026 setting mileage reimbursement at the federal rate and allowing up to $40.00 per day for meal reimbursement with receipts; Resolution No. 02‑2026 fixing regular meeting days as the first and third Tuesdays of each month (with specific time exceptions for the June Board of Equalization and a December meeting); Resolution No. 03‑2026 authorizing pre‑authorized payments by the Auditor‑Treasurer for routine obligations; and Resolution No. 06‑2026 designating county depositories (including Wells Fargo MBS, US Bank, BMO Canby Co‑op Credit Union, and First Independent Bank). Committee appointments for 2026 and AMC voting delegates were approved and the Personnel Committee was authorized to post and advertise to fill vacancies, with all measures adopted by unanimous vote.
