Following a request from the Barbour County Youth Soccer Association, commissioners discussed placing automated external defibrillators (AEDs) at youth sports locations across the county. The discussion focused on durable enclosures and whether units could be paired with naloxone (Narcan) storage; no procurement decision or funding allocation was made during the meeting.
Staff will continue research on enclosure options and naloxone accommodation, and Dylan Harper was asked to obtain sample boxes for the commission to review. The minutes record that additional information will be brought back to a future meeting before any purchases are authorized.
