Citizens Bond Oversight Committee reports $12.25M ending balance, outlines Measure D projects

At the meeting the Citizens Bond Oversight Committee chair (introduced as Chris) presented the committee’s annual report on Measure D bond expenditures and recent projects.
The chair summarized the committee’s role and the most recent fund activity: "We began with 16,800,000, spend 5.4. We earned interest... ending fund balance of approximately 12,250,000," he said. He reviewed completed modernization projects and provided examples of upcoming projects in the 2024–25 plan, including track and roof replacement, library upgrades, demolition of older portables, campus exterior painting, campus wide rekeying and data upgrades, and an investment in parking and entry improvements. He described planned work to beautify campus entries and to develop a grove area for teaching and community use; the two highlighted projects were presented with a combined project cost the speaker stated as $3,800,000.
The chair told trustees the committee reviewed audits and expenditures and confirmed that bond proceeds were used only for voter‑authorized projects and not for teacher or administrative salaries. Trustees thanked the presenter and encouraged committee recruitment for vacant oversight positions.
The board accepted the report and expressed appreciation for oversight work and for the district staff supporting project implementation.
