Board revokes 2024 Title IX rules, readopts 2020 policies and adopts updated school safety plan

At the Feb. 12 meeting trustees took several formal actions. After discussion, the board voted to revoke the 2024 Title IX rules and readopt the district's 2020 Title IX board policies and administrative regulations. Trustees said the change is not expected to materially alter day‑to‑day practices because California law preserves student protections.
The board also adopted a revised school safety plan after a presentation describing coordination with the city police and fire departments on aerial building identification, signage to match aerial IDs, and reunification sites; the district will also work with the county office on a wildfire plan. Rob Smith and Maribel Chavez were credited with plan revisions. The board approved the safety plan by voice vote and later approved QK as the architect for Measure R bond projects after an RFQ. Trustees also cast the district’s CSBA delegate assembly vote for a single candidate from Rincon Valley.
