Freddie Veres (teacher) said MBA currently enrolls 28 students (15 seniors), that 75% of students are Latino, 25% receive special‑education services, and 71% have internships.
Senior Kevin (speaker 21) described an internship at a local welding shop: "Internship for me has been amazing... I might be able to get a job after I graduate," he said, crediting the program with providing clear career pathways. Staff outlined internship structures (interest‑based informational interviews, shadow days, then internships) and highlighted partnerships with local organizations including ranches, welding shops, and artists; the program has earned a $13,000 grant from the Community Foundation of Sonoma County to support Native American initiatives and family engagement.
Trustees praised the work and asked how academic skills (reading and writing) are integrated; staff said students undertake packet work, note‑taking and credit‑bearing coursework through SRJC classes, and emphasized that internships are paired with academic and social‑emotional supports.
