12-County Solid Waste Plan submitted to MPCA; county adoption pending minor clerical edits

Lincoln County's Solid Waste Commission approved a 12-County Solid Waste Plan, which has been submitted to the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency; a few clerical edits remain before the board will be asked to adopt the plan.
Environmental Administrator Dustin Hauschild reported that the 12-County Solid Waste Plan was approved by the Solid Waste Commission and submitted to the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA). He said the plan is required every 10 years and that staffing changes and new rules delayed completion until now; a few minor clerical changes remain before county-level adoption.
Hauschild said directors from area solid waste offices praised the work put into the plan and that once MPCA approval is received, the plan will be presented to the board for formal adoption.
