County approves $21,500 bale processor to replace 2002 unit; Road & Bridge hearing set for March 3

Highway Engineer Joe Wilson updated the board on project closeouts for 2024–25, ongoing bridge inspections, and the 2026 construction plans. He described maintenance work including bridge, tree cutting and experiments with a weed sprayer for paved roads.
Wilson requested approval to purchase an Artsway 864 bale processor for $21,500 to replace a 2002 bale chopper; the minutes state $21,000 was budgeted but the purchase price is $21,500. Motion by Mic VanDeVere, seconded by Corey Sik, to purchase the Artsway 864 from Wearda Implement for $21,500 passed unanimously. Wilson also announced the Road and Bridge Hearing scheduled for March 3 at 10:00 a.m. and an Ivanhoe Joint Truck Station meeting with MnDOT to be held the same day as the county meeting.
