County agrees to $5,000 contribution for Lake Shaokatan treatment

Lincoln County Environmental Administrator Dustin Hauschild told the board Feb. 17 that the Lake Shaokatan treatment has been paid from capital improvement funds in past years and requested approval to do so for 2026. The board approved paying the county's $5,000 share from capital improvement funds on a motion by Commissioner Mic VanDeVere, seconded by Commissioner Corey Sik; the vote was unanimous (4-0).
Hauschild also relayed that a public information meeting on County Ditch 37 had occurred and that the consensus at that meeting supported moving ahead with redetermination (separately discussed). The lake-treatment payment is recorded as a county capital improvement contribution and will be included in County financial records.
