The Barbour County Commission on March 25 approved the 2026–27 Levy Estimate and associated budgets and voted to submit the estimate to the West Virginia State Auditor's Office for review. The approved General County budget is $5,540,654 and the Coal Severance allocation is $450,000, a combined total of $5,990,654.
Commission President David Strait moved to approve the Levy Estimate as presented; Commissioner Bob Richardson seconded and the measure passed on a 3–0 vote. The vote and the commission’s written minutes record that the levy estimate will now be transmitted to the State Auditor’s Office for its review. The meeting adjourned at 5:13 p.m.
