Commission hears plans to repair wooden playground structure and refresh splash pad

Park Manager Anderson told the commission that the wooden playground structure requires wood replacement and paint touch-ups and that in-house staff will handle repainting of splash-pad toys and concrete.
"I'm working on, painting the splash pad. Our guys will do that because all the little splash toys and stuff there need to be painted," Anderson said, adding that much of the repaint work is a matter of paint and staff time.
Anderson also presented a contractor quote to replace the splash-pad pump-house roof and the colored roofs on playground structures. He recommended replacing shingled roofs with metal roofing to match the main building and described the aesthetic and durability benefits. The commission discussed cost trade-offs and timing for the repairs; no separate vote was required beyond the broader pavilion/roof approval.
