Tim Boyles, who identified himself as a special project manager at Gracy Cornerstone Contracting (company representative), said Grayson Carter has been locally owned for 29 years and employs more than 650 people. "At this new Tuscumbia location, we anticipate creating approximately 75 additional jobs within the 1st 18 months of operation," Boyles said, and described expected sales and severance tax revenue for the community.
Boyles told the hearing the company takes responsibility for protecting air and water quality, saying it had followed the permitting process and submitted required environmental data and that it expects to meet or exceed applicable permitting standards if the permits are issued.
