Commission approves street closure and amplified-sound permit for Spruce Up Fourth of July parade

Public Works Director Kevin Gorman presented the request, describing closure of Main Avenue from SW 1st to SW 9th from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m., and a car show on SW Alder Avenue from 9 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. He also said the amplified-sound permit is intended for a live band performing during the parade. "So it's kind of 2 things we're voting on... closing Main Avenue from SW 1st... and then the amplified sound is for a live band that'll be happening during the parade," Gorman said.
No members of the public registered to speak, and the commission moved and unanimously approved the temporary road closure and sound permit.
