City staff presented a low bid from Big River Construction to demolish and reconstruct the Quincy Robinson Park sports court and recommended awarding the contract for $139,681 plus a 10% contingency. The contractor will remove the existing surface and fences, complete new paving and surface work, reinstall fencing and nets, and provide a playing surface that can accommodate tennis and potentially pickleball in the future.
"It'll be pretty quick," the presenter said of the expected schedule, noting completion could be mid to late April for finishing and the court should be available for use in the summer. Commissioners voted to award the construction contract and to include the contingency authorized in the motion.
