The Warrenton City Commission approved Resolution 27‑34, authorizing issuance and sale of bonds to finance the city's wastewater treatment project. City Manager (unnamed) told the commission the authorization follows voter approval to allow the sale and staff has worked with financial advisors, bond counsel, and underwriters; the sale is expected to go to market in August.
"This is this is a big one for the city," the City Manager said when introducing the bond resolution and described ongoing coordination with financial advisors and timing sensitivities tied to plant construction. Staff discussed timing of spending and indicated construction could break ground possibly at the end of next year with build‑out into 2028.
The resolution designates authorized representatives, bond counsel and placement agents and delegates technical responsibilities for the sale. The commission voted to approve the resolution; staff will return with sale details and final underwriting documents as the transaction is prepared.
