Parks director outlines spring events, egg hunt set for March 21 at Williams Park

Amber Lane, Director of Parks, presented the Parks Department's upcoming events and activities and invited residents to participate in seasonal programs.
Lane said the department will host a morning bird hike, a spring 'stuffies' program, and the city will bring back the egg hunt at Williams Park on Saturday, March 21. "We'll have pictures with the bunny animal encounters, local businesses similar to Trail and Tree around the veil, and then, of course, an Easter egg hunt..." Lane said, adding the event will require about two hours to set up.
Lane also described a pilot 'senior soiree' at Eaton Hall intended as a small, dressy social event for older residents; she said the department will evaluate scaling up with partners if attendance warrants. On operations, she told council members that splash pad de-winterization will not begin until late April and that staff will provide updates after the work starts.
