Benbrook council reappoints municipal court judge and associate judge

The Benbrook City Council adopted ordinances to appoint and confirm municipal court judicial positions during its April 16 meeting.
City Manager Hinderacker told the council that Alan Bowling has served as the municipal court judge since 2005 and staff recommended adoption of Ordinance 15-18 to appoint him with compensation set at $1,250 per month plus $50 per day for magistrate services as needed. Council moved and seconded the ordinance, and the motion carried unanimously.
The council then approved a separate ordinance to appoint (or reappoint) Wendy Cooper as associate municipal judge with the same base compensation structure ($1,250 per month, prorated, plus $50 per day for magistrate services). Both votes passed unanimously at the meeting.
