The Bedford City Council proclaimed April 2026 as Child Abuse Prevention Month and heard a presentation from Alliance for Children about services the organization provides across Tarrant County.
Casey Pauli, representing Alliance for Children, described the center’s role in coordinating multidisciplinary investigations and reducing trauma for children by offering forensic interviews, family advocacy and clinical programs. Pauli said the center’s approach reduces repeated interviews and improves outcomes: “We bring all of those parties together,” Pauli said, describing how law enforcement, CPS, prosecutors and clinicians operate as one team. She noted many services are available at no cost to families and that the Texas Family Code now directs circumstances involving crimes against children to children's advocacy centers.
Council members thanked Alliance for Children and underscored the value of local partnerships. Mayor Dan Kogan read statistics included in the proclamation noting that Alliance for Children provided trauma-informed services to 2,281 children in 2025 and cited county-level figures on confirmed cases used for community context.
