Bedford honors communications director Molly Fox and police milestones

The Bedford City Council on March 24 recognized several city employees for milestone service and contributions.
City Manager Andrea Roy introduced Molly Fox, the city's communications director, and credited her with transforming Bedford’s municipal communications since joining in 2021. Roy said, “Since Molly joined us in 2021, she has transformed how we communicate with our community,” and noted the office’s expanded community engagement and a collection of awards under Fox’s leadership. Mayor Dan Kogan and other council members thanked Fox and said her work had improved resident outreach.
The council also recognized police department anniversaries. Police Chief Bobby Lapena introduced Officer Jalen Brooks, marking five years with the department, and Officer Danny Wood, marking 10 years and service on specialized teams including crash investigation and the drone unit. Multiple speakers praised Chief Lapena’s 25 years of service; one officer told the council the chief “leads like family,” describing his approachability and mentorship. Mayor Kogan closed the recognitions by thanking staff across departments for their service to residents.
