During the April 16 meeting, city planning staff told the commission that land‑use applications and rezones are slowing but that plats are increasing. Staff announced three upcoming events: a mandatory volunteer training with the city attorney on April 23 at City Hall from 6–8 p.m. (a Zoom link will be provided for those who cannot attend in person); a volunteer appreciation event on April 30 at the Civic Center from 5–7 p.m.; and the Sprint the Springs 5K at the Recreation Center on May 9 at 8 a.m., which staff said will be dinosaur themed.
Staff asked commissioners to contact the city secretary if they need remote access to the training and noted that the appreciation event will include food, prizes and entertainment.
