Staff explained that the Rosemont Ridge Middle School fire alarm system has experienced repeated component failures this spring and that replacement parts are increasingly difficult to source, making a full system replacement desirable this summer. The staff presenter said the procurement uses cooperative purchasing and that the operations team is confident the work can be completed before students return: "We can get the whole system replaced this summer," the Staff member said.
The resolution (2025‑16) was moved, seconded, and approved in a voice vote. Board members noted neighborhood impacts during installation and praised the contractor workforce; staff added that salvaged components will be reused to maintain other older systems until they, too, are replaced. The vote carried and staff will proceed with contracting and summer installation.
