The commission approved a temporary road closure of Southeast 2nd Street to allow a contractor to replace a 24-inch culvert near Southeast Marlin Drive. The Public Works presenter said the contractor is lined up and ready to start the next day if the closure is approved; the plan allows up to four days of closure beginning May 27 and cautions that the work may require intermittent closures to remove old pipe and install the replacement.
"They'll start tomorrow if this is approved," the Public Works presenter (S13) said, and noted the project schedule is not exact and the closure windows will be selected during construction. The commission voted to approve the temporary closure and the detour plan.
