Board reviews AP textbook purchases, renews history materials and approves CCAP agreements with SRJC

For secondary social studies, staff proposed an updated AP Government textbook aligned to College Board changes, estimating roughly $10,000 for texts, test banks and online materials to cover two sections. The board also heard about an AP Literature and Composition rotation that would move to a two-year offering to maximize sections and teacher collaboration (estimated cost roughly $13,000 for readers and materials).
For secondary history and social science, staff recommended a six-year renewal of the TCI curriculum and online package. "We had a 6-year adoption back in 2019…this would give us 6 years of online material renewed," an administrator said, adding the package meets state framework and Fair Act requirements; the renewal cost was estimated at $27,600.
On postsecondary partnerships, the board approved a College and Career Access Pathways (CCAP) MOU with Santa Rosa Junior College to deliver ASL 1/2 on campus via SRJC instructors, an embedded statistics course aligned to SRJC standards (to be taught by Bernadette Calhoun if adjunct approval proceeds), and a counseling 6 course for MBA students provided by an SRJC counselor; ethnic-studies dual enrollment remains tentative while SRJC recruits staff. The board moved and approved the CCAP MOU.
