Town staff told the select board that the Vermont League of Cities and Towns (VLCT) can provide a roughly two-hour training on executive session and open meeting law for the full board, village trustees, and committee chairs.
Staff member said they reached out to VLCT and that “They're able to offer about a 2 hour training. The hope would be the whole select board could attend. They invite the village trustees to attend, and then also, the chairs of other committees and commissions.” Staff proposed dates (March 31, April 1, April 2) and the board discussed availability; April 1 at 4:00 p.m. was suggested as a likely option, and staff noted a virtual option is available for those who cannot attend in person.
The board signaled informal agreement to pursue scheduling on or near April 1; staff will confirm exact time with VLCT and notify invited participants.
