During the public comment period, Ashley Nave of Scirocco Drive urged the commission to deny the rezoning for Rowan Ranch, citing two alleged trespass incidents involving surveyors working for the applicant and a drone operator who collected data on private property without her consent. She said she filed a complaint with the FAA and that Benbrook police issued a trespass warning to the company involved.
"A surveyor jumped the fence on my mom's property... The drone operator was at least 250 feet away from Mary's Creek in my backyard when collecting data for over an hour without my knowledge," Nave said. She also pointed to public records and stated, "Corey Waldrop and his associated LLCs are currently carrying debts exceeding 4,000,000," and said that raised doubts about whether a meaningful compensation fund could be maintained.
Applicant representatives apologized for any trespass and said the proposed $500,000 contribution would be placed in a third‑party account and tied to milestones before vertical construction, and that vertical units would not be constructed until conditions were met.
