Benbrook authorizes interlocal with Tarrant County for FY2025–26 street maintenance

City staff presented an interlocal agreement that would have Tarrant County provide labor and equipment to carry out a portion of Benbrook’s FY2025–26 street maintenance program, while the city pays for materials such as asphalt and milling. Staff said the scope covers roughly two miles concentrated in the Winding Way area; Winding Way itself was excluded this year because a Benbrook Water Authority project will install a new water line along that street.
Council members asked about public access to the map and street list (staff said it can be posted on the city website and included in the meeting packet) and about scheduling. Staff said the signed agreement must be submitted to Tarrant County by next Wednesday so the county can approve it in April and that the work would likely occur in June or July. A council member moved to approve the interlocal agreement; the motion was seconded and carried.
