Satino thanked election staff and volunteers for running the off‑cycle May contest, naming Tracy Dutton and numerous other staff and volunteers, and said turnout was about 8% for what she characterized as a single‑issue, small‑city election. "We had about an 8%, which doesn't sound like much, but for a 1 issue election in a small city, that was a really significant showing," she said.
Todd Thurber, introduced during the meeting, is the council member‑elect for the seat; he was present and briefly addressed the chamber as part of staff and council recognition. Satino and councilmembers thanked administrators and volunteers for running the election and acknowledged the collaborative work across departments that supported the process.
The city manager also announced two new firefighter‑paramedics joining the department and several neighborhood conversations and community events that staff have held as part of outreach.
