Council accepts monthly finance report showing revenues exceed expenditures

Finance Director Overgaard presented the city’s monthly financial summary for the period ending Feb. 28, 2026, telling the Benbrook City Council that general-fund revenues were $19,878,277 (74.9% of budget) and expenditures were $11,178,646 (41.2% of budget), leaving revenues exceeding expenditures by $8,699,631. He provided line-item detail for February including property tax, sales tax, permits and fees, charges for services and interest, and called out public safety spending and a transfer for the Dutch Branch park improvement project.
After the presentation, Council member Franklin moved to accept the finance report as presented; the motion was seconded and the mayor opened voting. The council approved the report. “Staff recommends the city council accept the finance report for the period ending 02/28/2026,” Overgaard said. The council did not request additional clarifying documents beyond posting the report to the city website for public access.
