Council unanimously approved an ordinance amending the FY 2025–26 budget to add a capital grant for an LED lighting retrofit at the fire station. Ryan Smith, director of parks, recreation and facilities, was present for questions and said the program covers the retrofit cost.
Council members praised the energy‑efficiency grant, with one councilor noting the state program "completely cover[s] the cost" for covered buildings and asking whether the library might be included in a future round of funding. The motion passed 6–0.
The ordinance amends appropriations in the capital grant fund for the LED retrofit project; no additional city match was required for the fire‑station retrofit per staff remarks.
