The Board reviewed two credentialing requests and voted to permit both doctors to use the requested credentials in their advertising. Benjamin S. Lurie, DC, called for consideration of Dr. Dickman's Fellowship in Primary Spine Care; the Board learned the program comprised 381 hours through Cleveland Chiropractic and that it included numerous examinations and a comprehensive final exam. Mr. Augustin moved to approve the Fellowship; Dr. Jaeger seconded and the motion passed unanimously.
The Board also approved Dr. Tawil's request to advertise the Certification in Chiropractic Clinical Neurology (CCCN). Dr. Tawil said he completed 120 hours of coursework and an extensive exam for the credential. Board members discussed whether the terms "diplomate" and "fellowship" should be treated synonymously and requested that future meetings include consideration of policy or NAC amendments to clarify certification, diplomate and fellowship standards.
