Council cancels library construction and architecture contracts after bond loss

Oakley told council the two items are administrative steps to pause the project while the city determines next steps. Council moved and approved the cancellations: first, termination of the construction-manager-at-risk contract with Hoare Construction; second, termination of the architecture services contract with Lake Flato. Both motions carried unanimously.
Oakley said the actions give the city time to determine how it will proceed on library planning and funding. No additional contract awards or replacement funding were approved at the meeting.
