City leaders publicly thanked utility maintenance, water resources and public works administrative staff for their response to a significant water main break at 5th and Gloria.
The city manager named multiple crew members and said the response included prompt communication, coordinated repairs, flushing to maintain disinfection, verification of chlorine residuals and collection of microbiological samples across the distribution system. "The dedication, professionalism, and commitment demonstrated by all involved in serving our community are sincerely appreciated," the city manager said. Staff cautioned that test results require a 24-hour hold after samples are submitted; the manager said the city would notify the public once the results clear the boil-notice requirement.
Council members repeatedly praised the response and the communications work that kept residents and internal staff informed. The city manager asked the public to thank dispatchers and the animal-care team during National Public Safety Telecommunicator Week and National Animal Care and Control Appreciation Week.
