The council opened and closed a public hearing on rezoning application 002-2026 and voted to rezone two parcels at 11809 and 11825 Lake June Road from Industrial and Single-Family to Commercial District C to allow a business-park development. Supporters at the hearing included a Planning & Zoning member and the chamber president. The hearing record shows three citizens spoke in favor and the applicant, Nick Rosado, presented project details and community benefits.
Developer Nick Rosado told the council his family has worked in the area for decades and estimated the project would create about 200 new jobs (he said the range was 180 to 240) and has a preliminary budget of around $18 million, possibly closer to $20 million. Rosado described continuous sidewalk installation from the nearby corner to Sheila Drive and reiterated that the development aligns with the city's master plan. After public comment the council closed the hearing, moved and seconded the rezoning motion, and the motion passed.
