Balch Springs EDC sets April 20 meeting, lists scholarships and community events

At the close of its March 16 meeting the Balch Springs EDC announced that the next Type A meeting is scheduled for April 20, 2026 at 6:00 p.m. Staff highlighted scholarship application windows (the City Council scholarship March 2–April 13 and the Eugene McCray scholarship March 1–May 1) and said more information is available on the city website.
Staff also promoted community events including an egg hunt on March 28 at Woodland Park (10 a.m.–noon) and a Bayou Bash crawfish boil on April 18 at the recreation center; the city is sponsoring the crawfish boil. Staff invited board members to sign up for training opportunities such as EDC sales‑tax courses and noted a chamber golf tournament and other outreach events.
