"The class that I went through it with, we still talk to one another," she said, describing networking benefits and civic-learning takeaways such as a Civic Academy idea that her class inspired.
Miles confirmed Leadership Southwest offers sponsorships for candidates and said candidates may apply for sponsored slots; she also described typical class sizes (around 35–50) and suggested the city could consider sponsoring candidates if the council chose to do so. Staff and the board discussed circulating the application and coordinating sign-ups for interested board members.
